Film Series for 2006-2007

The FSS Diversity Committee is excited to announce that the first FSS Diversity Lunch Film Series held a successful debut installation on October 25. The film was screened in the JC Kellam Building, Room 460, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

In keeping with this year’s Common Experience Program topic, “Protest and Dissent,” the committee first screened “Zoot Suit Riots, “ a 60-minute documentary that discusses pertinent aspects of the film. To help make this a fulfilling event, FSS provided lunch.

The second Film Series was held on February 9th in the Facilities Training Room located at the Physical Plant. Employees viewed clips from the movie, “Crash” which demonstrated the roles of stereotypes can play in our everyday life. The turn-out was great with standing room only. Attendees discussed stereotypes, racism, and complicated relationships between individuals.

FSS employees will be notified via email about specific dates and times for the remaining film series sessions.
