Lance Trottier
Custodial Operations Trainer, Lance Trottier

Custodial Operations Trainer - Lance Trottier

Lance Trottier joined the department in 2005 with many years of experience in safety with the manufacturing industry. In addition to being the department’s Trainer, he serves as the departmental Additional Duty Safety Officer as well as supervising the Workshop operations.

Lance completed an intensive 3 day training course and is certified by the Custodial Management Institute as a Custodial Trainer. The course, Custodial Technician Train-the-Trainer Program is based on CMI's popular Custodial Technician Training program, the industry's premier how-to training program for front-line custodians. There are eight Custodial Technician training modules designed for your custodians that cover all of the basic cleaning procedures in custodial operations including basic floor and carpet care, restroom cleaning, cleaning chemistry and above the floor cleaning as well as advanced carpet and floor procedures and advanced project cleaning. The Train-the-Trainer program covers all of the material in all eight modules as well as topics of interest to the instructor, like suggestions for learning materials and speaking outlines.  Technicians must pass an exam for each module of training and are awarded a frame-able certificate as well as a uniform patch when they achieve a passing grade.

The Training Department under Lance’s direction is currently busy recreating the entire training program to include New Employee Orientation, in-service mandatory monthly training for all line staff, evaluating training needs for the future and compiling a library of resource material.
